Nearing a potential government shutdown, Acadia National Park is preparing for a shutdown.

As we near the busy Summer tourist season, it looks as though one of the state's main attractions may be closed.  According to the MD Islander, the staff at Acadia National Park is preparing for a possible shutdown.

If a resolution to keep the government funded isn't passed by Congress and signed by President Trump by Friday night, the park could close.  If that does happen, everything will be closed...  The trails, beaches, Cadillac Mountain, etc.  And, if a ranger spots someone in the park during the closure, they'll be asked to leave.

The last time there was a partial government shutdown, in October of 2013, the park was closed for 17 days.

Let's cross our fingers and hope this does not happen.
