Amy Poehler Lands a Deal to Write a Book We Already Want to Read
The still-untitled book has been picked up by publisher It Books, which describes the memoir as “an illustrated, nonlinear diary full of humor and honesty and brimming with true stories, fictional anecdotes and life lessons.”
If her Ask Amy videos are any indication, this will be an equally funny and touching new take on the memoir genre. Editor Carrie Thornton says she was ultimately “blown away by [Poehler's] creativity and her passion.”
Poehler’s book will join the pantheon of other female comedians’ tomes on shelves, including authors like Chelsea Handler (‘Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea’), Mindy Kaling (‘Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me’) and Sarah Silverman (‘Bedwetter’).
