Halloween is just around the corner, and it's not too early to get out and pick out that perfect pumpkin and have some Halloween fun!

Sure, you could go to the grocery or big-box store to pick out a pumpkin, but what fun is that? Fortunately, there are several places in the Augusta area that offer old fashioned pumpkin patches and other Halloween fun!

One of the biggest Halloween-themed areas is Pumpkin Land on Route 26 in Mechanic Falls. Now open weekends through Oct. 27, Pumpkin Land features not just pumpkins, but a corn maze, rides, bounce houses, wagon rides to the pumpkin patch and much more! And, it's all priced at a rate that families can afford!

Running Oct. 5-14, the Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta is another great event for families. It features a wide variety of events, including a giant Pumpkin weigh off, a pumpkin boat regatta, a pumpkin hurl and the pumpkin fest parade. In addition, Townsquare Media Augusta will be sponsoring PumpkinStock, a live concert event on Oct. 12 at Red Top Farm.

The Belgrade Community Center will be hosting a Halloween Party on Friday Oct. 25 at the Belgrade Center for All Seasons from 4-6 p.m. The Kennebec Valley Chamber will be collaborating with the Belgrade Central School PTO for its annual kids Halloween party. Children will have a fantastic time showing off their costumes and going through the haunted porch if they dare! The evening will be filled with music, food and fun!

And don't forget the 92Moose Halloween Party on Oct. 31 at the Augusta Armory!
