November 4, 2012 This is the best day of the year because I get the thing I wish for most every day. I want a little extra time every day, but this is the day that my little wish gets delivered. Ya, I know it's all just a trick and my day is not really longer, but it sure feels that way!

November 2, 2012 In West Gardiner is now $1.75. I remember the good ol’ days when it was only half a dollar! Tolls for cars went up to $3 at the toll plaza in York, to $2.25 in New Gloucester. Tolls will also go up from $1 to $1.50 at the northbound entrance in Wells and the southbound entrance in Gray. If you use an E-ZPass the cost is up on average by 1 cent per mile. If you drive the Maine Turnpike Augusta to York is has gone from $5 to $7.
November 1, 2012 For the second year, Maine was ranked second-worst place, after Hawaii, in the United States for making a living. The report said Maine’s below-average income, higher cost of living and tax rates in the nation combined to put Maine near the bottom. But, what we do have is a higher quality of life!
October 31, 2012 Like Halloween is not a great day anyway, with the 92 Moose Walgreens Free Family Halloween Party, but it is our traditional visit from the Farmers' Almanac with Peter Geiger. We have tons of fun questions and prizes. Peter has a tradition of a password that IF you use when you trick-or-treat at his home on Brentwood Avenue in Lewiston you get extra candy. EXTRA CANDY!

October 30, 2012 I have a love/hate relationship with shopping. I like nice things. I don’t like the price tag of nice things and well, some days the process of shopping is overwhelming. But mostly it’s the price tag that gets me. Since last year the price of clothes has gone up 2.7%! What is a girl to do?
October 29, 2012 These are the Halloween Helpers! They are filling the goodie bags we will be giving out at the 92 Moose Walgreen's Free Family Halloween Party on Halloween from 4-6p at the Augusta Armory for kids 12 and under and their families.
October 29, 2012 I spent some time a few years ago helping the Augusta Salvation Army get ready for its Christmas distribution. I learned a lot about what they do, but the biggest lesson to me was, to make it all work they have to pre-plan. And that is where you come in, right now is application time.
