Four Maine Colleges Make Annual ‘Best Bang for the Buck’ List

No matter how you look at it, it costs a tremendous amount of money to go to college. Take it from me. We've put 2 kids through college and the debt is amazing. The good news is four Maine colleges have made Washington Monthly’s 'Best Bang for the Buck' list.

The University of Maine is ranked 132nd with the University of Maine in Farmington at 184. Maine Maritime Academy comes in at 232 and the College of the Atlantic is 240th.

The rankings are  based on the economic value students receive per dollar it costs to attend. The publication evaluated about 1,700 colleges and universities. They selected 349 to highlight, based on criteria that reward schools that do well with students from lower-income families.
