Beyonce Surprises No One, Cancels Coachella Performance
After Beyoncé announced that she's pregnant with twins via a series of Instagram photos, the speculation about whether or not she'd be able to headline Coachella, which takes place in April, immediately began.
It intensified after a very pregnant Bey performed at the Grammys. After all, she may be Queen Bey but unless she's also an alien, there was pretty much no way she'd be able to headline an entire show at Coachella. She was scheduled to perform on April 15 and 22, and it would've marked the first time a woman headlined the festival since Bjork in 2007. Now, Billboard reports Beyoncé's Parkwood Entertainment and festival producer Goldenvoice said the pop star had to pull out under doctor's orders.
"Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival," the statement said.
However, there is still light at the end of the tunnel—she'll headline in 2018 instead.
Right now, it hasn't been announced who will perform in her absence. This year's festival is also headlined by Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar.
