CBS may not yet have given us any real look 'Under the Dome' as production gears up, but its casting sure has turned heads. Last week casting 'Breaking Bad' star Dean Norris as the Stephen King-adapted piece's villain, 'Under the Dome' has next cast ousted 'Twilight' actress Rachelle Lefevre in the leading female role. Will the hotly anticipated summer series break out of its shell or find itself lost in the summer shuffle? Go 'Under the Dome' with the latest casting inside!

We were already pretty hooked to hear that 'Breaking Bad' star Dean Norris had joined CBS' upcoming summer series 'Under the Dome,' but now we're positively bitten. Deadline reports that 'Twilight' actress Rachelle Lefevre has landed the leading female role in the series, that of investigative reporter Julia.

Written by ‘LOST’s’ Brian K. Vaughan and with original ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ helmer Niels Arden Oplev directing, ‘Under the Dome’ follows the book of the same name, focusing on a small New England town that finds itself inexplicably encased in a transparent dome with no hope of penetration. Inside, the residents of the town battle increasingly apocalyptic conditions as they struggle to understand what’s happened to them.

Lefevre's Julia moves to the town of Chester Mills and forms an interest in Army veteran Dale “Barbie” Barbara (Mike Vogel), a man on a mysterious mission. In addition to Norris and Vogel, Lefevre joins cast members Colin Ford (‘Supernatural‘), Natalie Martinez, Alex Koch, Britt Robertson, Nicholas Strong and Jolene Purdy. CBS has tentatively set a premiere date of Monday, June 24 for the series.
