One Person Killed In Crash On Route 202 In Monmouth [UPDATE]

A man has been killed in a head-on crash in Monmouth this morning.

According to the Kennebec Journal’s website at centralmaine.com, the man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family members, died before a helicopter could taken him to a hospital.

The Kennebec Journal report also said that a woman, who was driving the other vehicle involved in the crash, was taken by ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with what the report said were “serious injuries.” The woman’s name has also not been released.

A report on WMTW’s website says the accident scene is near the intersection of North Main Street  and traffic is being detoured to Old Lewiston Road.
