It looks like Dutch biker gangs who have joined with Kurdish forces in the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq are not committing any crimes, according to the public prosecutor in The Netherlands.

According to a report on Yahoo News, public prosecutor Wim de Bruin said, "Joining a foreign armed force was previously punishable, now it's no longer forbidden."

His comments came after a report that members of a Dutch biker gang known as "No Surrender" had joined forces with Kurds battling Islamic State forces in northern Iraq, the Yahoo report said.

While he said it was not punishable for the gang members to join the fight against Islamic State, de Bruin said it would be a different story for any Dutch citizen who wished to join forces with the group. "The big difference with IS is that it's listed as a terrorist group," de Bruin said in the Yahoo News report. "That means that even preparing to join IS is punishable."
