Not really a big surprise that we're talking about nasty weather moving into the Pine Tree State now is it? I mean, after all, it is almost De-freaking-cember. Wow, auto-correct didn't like that one.

Anyway, I digress a little bit- let's get back on track and talk about the weather like the old men do at McDonalds every morning around their piping hot black coffees. There I got, digressing again.

The storm in question is still several days out, so don't lose your marbles just yet. As a matter of fact, it looks like the temperatures will actually begin trending milder before it starts to get colder again towards the beginning of next week. Take a gander at this handy-dandy graphic from WGME.

Chief Meteorologist, Christian Bridges, of WGME, says that you should probably enjoy the upcoming mild temps and lack of precipitation because it looks like that could all change as we head back into the work week on Monday.

Though we could see some light rain during the day for parts of Maine on Saturday, the real weather story is what looks to be developing for us on Monday. Bridges says that as temperatures begin to cool off on Sunday, a storm will be developing and making its way through the New England region.

Bridges says about the upcoming Monday storm in part,

Sunday night into Monday of next week looks quite active. Current indications are that a powerful storm will move through the region on Monday. Whether this will be rain or snow will come down to the track, and uncertainty remains high.

He goes on to explain that a good amount of snow is looking 'increasingly likely' at least for the mountains. Though that good amount of snow could expand state-wide depending on the track of this storm.
