Forbe’s Magazine Includes Downtown Portland, Maine as One of ‘America’s Hippest Hipster Neighborhoods’
Portland, Maine has made another list in Forbe’s Magazine. Recently, Portland, Maine was named the #1 ‘Most Liveable City in America’ and now they’ve made a new list. It’s Forbe’s inaugural rundown of ‘America’s Best Hipster Neighborhoods.’ Los Angeles’ Silver Lake neighborhood tops the list.
What exactly does hipster mean? Well, Merriam-Webster defines a ‘hipster’ as ‘a person who is unusually aware of and interested in new and unconventional patterns.’
Downtown Portland, Maine comes in just under the top 10 at #11. Forbe’s Magazine describes Portland’s downtown:
One of New England’s hippest hoods, Downtown Portland dishes out an eclectic arts scene that includes the First Friday Art Walk. Caffeine fixes are best satiated at Coffee By Design, several microbreweries offer stronger libations, and fresh food ingredients can be had at the farmers market.
