Augusta native Julia Clukey is going to give the World Cup luge tour another go, at least for one more year. The 29-year-old made the announcement this afternoon at her summer camp for girls on Maranacook Lake Readfield.

Julia competed in the 2010 Olympics and finished 17th in the Vancouver Winter Games. She was edged out for a spot on the USA team last year and did not compete in the 2014 Sochi Games.

Clukey was named to the U.S. national luge team about a month ago.

The luge World Cup Tour begins in late November in Austria. USA athletes will compete in a race-off in October to determine team spots. The U.S. Luge website shows Clukey with a guaranteed spot because of international wins in the past two years.
