Katy Perry showed her support for incumbent president and 2012 hopeful Barack Obama at a recent fundraiser, performing not only her own hits, but also a cover of the Al Green's classic 'Let's Stay Together.'

Perry donned a floor-length olive green gown for her cover, complete with attached shawl. We have to say, the color really complemented her tan, and her raven waves were perfect. She looked so pretty! So how did her performance fare?

We can't lie, we actually preferred Obama's own performance of the tune from back in January. Perhaps an audio or technical issue, but Perry's vocals are nearly inaudible at the beginning of the song. She gained her footing a little ways through to deliver some more volume, even talking in some parts -- sort of like Kesha singing soul. She closed the song with an intro into her hit, the title track to 'Teenage Dream.'

Perry also performed 'Firework,' sporting a short white bodysuit and a patriotic cape. Though the original song is a mid-to-uptempo track, she sang it as a ballad, accompanied by a chorus behind her, and it worked out beautifully.

Even more beautiful? Perry's nail art. She rocked red, white, blue and Obama nails, with the P.O.T.U.S.'s mug, stars and stripes on her digits. She tweeted a pic of the statement look, writing, "Appropriate nails." We agree, K.P.!
