According to News Center Maine, a Waterville man is credited with getting three children and a dog to safety during an apartment fire on Morrill Avenue.

Aaron Brunelle, one of the several tenants displaced by yesterday's fire, was said to have discovered the fire and then went up to the third floor to check on his neighbors and warn them of the blaze.

That's when he discovered three children and a dog and was able to lead them all to safety. Fortunately, after the blaze was extinguished, it was determined that there were no injuries as a result of the fire. Fire officials said had it not been for Brunelle, the outcome could have been much much worse.

Because of the extensive fire, smoke and water damage to the building, about ten people are now misplaced.
