Oscar Nominated Actress Glenn Close and Her Husband Are Being Recognized for Their Contributions to Maine’s Creative Economy

Th Academy Award nominated actress, according to Wikipedia, got her start in supporting roles in ‘The World According to Garp’ (1982), ‘The Big Chill’ (1983) and ‘The Natural’ (1984) which all earned her nominations for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She picked up two more Academy Award nominations for Best Actress for her performances in ‘Fatal Attraction’ (1987) and ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ (1988). She currently stars in her Emmy and Golden Globe winning role as Patty Hewes in the FX TV series ‘Damages.’
The Maine Center for Creativity’s mission is to create projects and programs that promote the arts and stimulate the growth of Maine’s creative industries and professions. The Maine Center for Creativity Award will be presented Thursday, September 13 at 5:30pm at the Holiday Inn by the Bay, Portland, at the inaugural Maine Creative Industries Gala.
