A friend of the community, long-time radio broadcaster here at Townsquare Media and close friend to many, Mike Poulin, died early Friday evening at CMMC in Lewiston.

The cause of death was a heart attack.

A graduate of Cony High School, born and raised in the Augusta area, Mike knew just about everyone in the community and just about everyone knew him.

A radio broadcaster for nearly 40 years, Mikey (as I called him) preferred being a part-time radio D.J. to allow him to pursue other interests. He was extremely versatile, and able to work in many different formats. His style was to have fun and enjoy what he was doing, and he did. During his career, he worked for B98.5 (country), 92 Moose (top 40) and Capital 95.9 (classic rock).

Mike will be missed by so many in the area as his quirky sense of humor touched so many people throughout his life. He knew so many people that if you asked him 'do you know so-and-so,' his answer was always the same, 'yeah, I know them, they're a 'friend' of mine.'

Mike was a die hard Boston Red Sox fan and New England Patriots fan. The last story he wrote for our website was about getting ready for Patriots football. You can read that story by clicking below.

We will all miss him dearly.
