Restaurants In Central Maine Open For Thanksgiving
So tomorrow is the big day and you just don't feel like cooking? Not to worry, as several area restaurants will be open serving buffets, traditional Thanksgiving dinners, and off the menu items.
There are lots of pro's to going out to eat for Thanksgiving, including no cooking and no clean up.
If you are looking to eat out tomorrow, here are a few places open in the area.
Lisa's Restaurant Augusta
Lisa's is a local favorite and open 365 days a year for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Located on Bangor Street, not only can you enjoy a great Thanksgiving Dinner, you can also order off the menu, where there is something for every taste bud in your party.
Cloud Nine at the Senator Inn Augusta
Located just off exit 109 on Western Avenue in Augusta, The Senator Inn & Spa featuring the Cloud Nine restaurant will be doing it up right on Thanksgiving. They will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving Day Buffet from 11AM-6PM. Along with the traditional food items like roast turkey and pork, there will also be Seafood Newburgh, Beef Pot Pie and Orange Glazed Chicken among other great items on the buffet. See more info and the menu here.

The Harraseeket Inn at 162 Main Street is a good stop if Freeport is your destination for Thanksgiving. Main dining room and seating in Broad Arrow Tavern from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests may choose the lavish Thanksgiving buffet or order from the ala carte menu.
Muddy Rudder Yarmouth
The Tavern at the Brunswick Hotel, Brunswick
The Tavern at the Brunswick Hotel will be serving up a family-style buffet with traditional holiday offerings including roast turkey, baked ham with pineapple glaze, seafood Newburg, red kurri squash soup, root vegetable succotash and roasted sweet potato. There’s even Tofurky for vegans. Seatings are at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 6:30 p.m. Check out the menu here.
Moody's Diner Waldoboro
Located right on Route 1, and a landmark in Maine, Moody's has been around for decades. And there's a reason for that. Great food, reasonable prices and good service. Maine’s iconic diner will be serving a traditional New England Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. On the menu: Soup or fruit cup, roast turkey or pork with “all the fixins,” beverage and pie. More info on the Thanksgiving dinner and the menu can be found here.
These are just a handful of some local places open for Thanksgiving. As a rule, I have found most Chinese restaurants in the area are open for the holiday, also. The website Maine Today has also come up with a list of 25 restaurants open for the holiday. If you are planning on eating out tomorrow, I highly recommend calling first, to make sure they are open and if so, are reservations needed.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
