A soldier from Augusta has died at Fort Hood in Texas. According to WMTW, military officials say Spc. Casey Andrew Chapman was found unresponsive in a vehicle at a training area earlier this week on Wednesday. The Army is investigating the 20-year old's death. No other information has been released.

Chapman, 20, received numerous awards over the past two years. According to the Bangor Daily News he had been honored with four Army Achievement Medals, a National Defense Service Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, a Korean Defense Service Medal and an Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Medal.

He had enlisted as an active-duty soldier as an artillery mechanic two years ago.
