Cascades Auburn Fiber Closing
Cascades Inc. is closing Cascades Auburn Fiber due to poor sales. The plant, which employs 45 people, manufactures de-inked pulp.
Production will end on July 8, and the plant will close its doors July 15.
Medical Marijuana Can Be Dispensed in Auburn Schools
Auburn students soon can have medical marijuana administered to them in school. Last night (Jan. 7) the school committee voted unanimously in favor of a new policy, that would apply to students who have written certification, to use medical marijuana from a medical provider.
Tainted Drinking Water in Auburn
The Auburn Water District is saying that recent tests have revealed an increase in lead in drinking water. The tests, mandated by the EPA, are done every three years.
