Members of Friends of Bicentennial Nature Park want to let those who don’t live in Augusta use the swimming and picnic spot, but for a higher fee. According to the KJ, some officials are concerned that the change would upset an agreement with nearby landowners and cost more money than it’s worth.

Last summer, Bicentennial Nature Park on Route 3 in Augusta didn't open because of budget woes. This year, a group calling itself "Friends of Bicentennial Nature Park," is trying, through private funding, to make sure it opens in time for this year's hot weather and you can help this Tuesday night!
