A Dollar General store in Eliot closed briefly on Tuesday after several employees left handwritten notes on the door explaining why they quit their jobs
I remember Saturday nights out, hangin' at the Drive In, hitting McDonald's for a couple of Big Macs afterwards then heading to Belgrade with my pal, Ricky, to hand out with our hot dates and kill a few "pounders." Marie Anne's mom passed away late last summer. She died at home, as per her wish, thanks to Maine General Hospice, a non-profit arm of the hospital. Maine General CEO, Chuck Hays, gave the Moose crew a tour through the new hospital today. Unvelievable! From the beautiful outdoor gardens and walkways (to be used for therapy) to the sofas that fold out into beds so family members can stay with sick loved ones, this place is magnificent! Too bad that when you go there you're more than likely too sick to fully enjoy the amenities!
As I sit here at Maine General, Thayer Unit in Waterville, I can't wait to see dad. My sister, Bonnie and Marie Anne are here and dad made it through surgery well.
