School Supply Mix-up
August 23, 2012 It turns out it was all just a mix-up. Reports earlier this week said a man posing as a United Way worker stole school supplies that were to be donated to needy families. The United Way had collected 550 backpacks and were just waiting to fill them with supplies, such as pencils, crayons and notebooks. Supplies were to be stuffed into the backpacks at Big Lots in Auburn and then distributed to families around Androscoggin County.
