Simon Cowell can be pretty cantankerous to begin with, but he's really cranky following the scheduling disaster for 'X Factor' on Wednesday night (Oct. 17).

Demi Lovato is playing favorites on 'X Factor' -- and the contestant she's rooting for the most may surprise fans of the show.

On tonight's (Oct. 4) Boot Camp episode of 'X Factor,' the contestants were given their second task, which was to face off against one another on the same song. They were literally fighting for their lives.

The audition rounds are over and 'X Factor' is moving full steam ahead with the boot camp phase, where the men will be separated from the boys, the women from the girls, the musical wheat from the chaff. By the end of the week, only 24 contestants will remain out of 120. Only the strong survive.

Boot camp has begun over on 'X Factor,' and because of the presidential debate, the typical two-hour Wednesday installment was crunched down to a simple hour, but at least they were able to bring some drama!

After a montage of awful 'X Factor' auditions - Simon even compared a group to a time when he sat on two cats -- we knew we were in for a good audition with Lauren Jauregui.

Jordyn Foley, 12, came out on the 'X Factor' stage during tonight's (Sept. 27) audition episode looking like a cross between Britney Spears circa '...Baby One More Time' and Nicki Minaj. She was all pink and pigtails, schoolgirl-style, while singing 'Tomorrow' from the musical 'Annie,' which is a song Simon Cowell hates. Did that do her in?

Freddie Combs once weighed 920 pounds. He has worked his tail off to lose 400 pounds, and he's not done. He is currently seated in a wheelchair, but he wants to be able to lose more weight and stand while singing on 'X Factor.' That's a big goal, but he has the talent to get far on this show.

Trevor Moran almost missed his moment on tonight's (Sept. 27) final audition episode of 'X Factor.' The precocious 12-year-old spent much of his time backstage in San Francisco walking around, talking about how much he loves to entertain. He was dancing and generally annoying other people. The familiar face on tonight's 'X Factor' belonged to Sophie Tweed-Simmons -- or make that her father, Gene Simmons of Kiss. Mind you, the pretty 19-year-old made it clear from the very beginning that she wanted to make it on her own, and that's something anyone can respect.

The infinitely stylish David Correy auditioned on tonight's (Sept. 26) episode of 'X Factor,' and he was quite the Travie McCoy lookalike, with his beard and tattoos. Before he sang Bruno Mars' 'Just the Way You Are,' he shared his heartwarming reason for coming on the show, which was easily one of the most inspiring tales we've ever heard on a reality singing competition.

We kind of knew Austin Corini was going to be a big deal on 'X Factor' when two young female audience members -- unexpectedly, in the contestant holding room -- went gaga for the 16-year-old.

Arin Ray's face should be familiar to 'X Factor' diehards. He auditioned last season, and while he didn't make it as a solo act, he was placed in Intensity, a 10-member group the producers assembled from castoffs who weren't strong enough on their own. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts, right? Intensity made it to the live shows, but they were eventually sent packing.
