Cats hunt birds, so why can't catfish?  Well,  because cats live on land and fish live in the water, right? Well, it doesn't make any difference to these 3-5 foot long European Catfish along the Tarn River in southwest France.....

As you can see in the video, these fish actually strand themselves on the beach for a few seconds in an attempt to catch their prey.  These fish are successful in capturing the pigeons that they're preying on 28% of the time.  It is for this reason that they are referred to as "fresh water killer whales."

If this is part of the evolution process, future generations may see fish with legs chasing their prey across the beach.  At that point, the tables could turn and fishermen may find themselves the ones on the run!
