I am the last person you would expect sports stories from, but here we are. A few weeks ago, I told you when NASCAR was ready to start racing again, and now let’s take a look at something a little closer to home.

Thursday, July 23rd is the return to baseball. The Boston Red Sox are not playing on opening day but will be in action on Friday, July 24th when they play the Baltimore Orioles. Major League Baseball has a shortened and reworked season for 2020. Major League Baseball is trying to get baseball games in but do their best to keep everyone safe.

In the NBABoston Celtics are back in action on July 31st when they play the Milwaukee Bucks.

As for the NHLBoston Bruins are due to open their season with the Philadelphia Flyers on Augusta 2.

And then we have the NFL,  New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins will play a regular-season game on September 13th.

For those Tom Brady fans, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play the New Orleans Saints on September 13th.

I was also reading today at centralmaine.com that the Maine Principals Association had decided to push back the start date of the practice session and the start of the maybe a shortened season starting around September 18th.

As I mentioned, I am not a sports fan, I have only been to one Boston Red Sox game, but I am even a bit excited for this little touch of normal.
