8th Annual Camp Out Hunger Food Drive Coming to Augusta This November

One of Central Maine’s biggest annual food drives is coming back for its eighth year.

The 8th Annual Camp Out Hunger Food Drive will take over the Sam’s Club parking lot in Augusta from Monday, November 2 through Friday, November 6, 2026, as Matt & Allyssa once again spend five straight days broadcasting live and living on-site in campers.

The goal is a big one: fill an entire 18-wheeler with food donations for the Capital Region Salvation Army.

Throughout the week, listeners, local businesses, community groups and anyone who wants to help will be encouraged to stop by and donate nonperishable food items or make a monetary contribution.

Matt & Allyssa will be broadcasting live around the clock from the Camp Out Hunger site, spending all five days at Sam’s Club as donations continue to roll in.

And once again, the event will also be helping local animals.

Donations of pet food and kitty litter will be accepted to support both the Spectrum Generations AniMeals program and the Kennebec Valley Humane Society.

AniMeals helps provide pet food to older adults who may otherwise struggle to afford food for their pets, while the Kennebec Valley Humane Society continues its work caring for animals throughout the region.

Camp Out Hunger has grown into a major Central Maine tradition, bringing together listeners, businesses and organizations for one week with a simple goal: help make sure local families, and their pets, have the food they need.
