With each passing day, we continue to see a decline in the number of new COVID-19 cases in the State of Maine.  It’s a great sign that we are slowly returning to normal.  Before too long, our kids will be back in school five days a week, we’ll be going to concerts, we'll see lawmakers leave the Augusta Civic Center to return to the statehouse, and we’ll be able to wander through stores without wearing a mask.

Even with all of the awful things that have happened in the last year, there is no doubt that we have all learned so much.  We’ve seen businesses, both large and small, adapt to an extremely difficult situation.  We’ve learned that remote learning can be accomplished, even with the youngest students in the most rural areas.  And, we’ve learned that we avoid spending hours sitting in a conference room.  Instead, we can hold all of our meetings from our living room, bedroom, or the beach.

There is a good chance that we could see some of these changes become a permanent part of society.

9 Changes Likely To Stick Around Maine Post Pandemic

Some of the things we've learned during the pandemic are likely to stick around years after the hospitals are empty and we've had our last CDC briefing. This list was inspired by a similar list done by the Bangor Daily News.
