After 22 Years of Service, Waterville Says Goodbye to Tower One
It's a bittersweet moment for the members of the Waterville Fire Department. Bitter because they have to bid farewell that provided reliable and dedicated ladder service to the city for more than two decades. Sweet because they get to welcome an absolutely beautiful and state-of-the-art tower truck to their fleet.
The Waterville Fire Department has been patiently waiting for their new rig for just over a year and a half. That's how long it takes to build, prep and paint these massive ladder trucks! Well, after the long wait, they have finally taken delivery of their new truck, and to say it's gorgeous is an absolute understatement. It's amazing.
Sadly, that does mean that the former 'Tower One' will be coming out of service as the new one takes its place. The department also wants city residents to know that over the next several weeks the new truck will be spending lots of time on the road as crews log the required number of training hours onboard the new firefighting apparatus.
However, citizens shouldn't be concerned, ladder services, if needed, will be covered under the surrounding town's mutual aid agreement. So, in the event a ladder is needed, there will still be one available.
After a long year and a half, WFD took delivery of our new Tower One from Rosenbauer Group and Specialty Vehicles, Inc....
