American Legion In Waterville Planning Veterans Day Parade

According to the KJ, the  Bourque-Lanigan American Legion Post No. 5 in Waterville is planning a Veterans Day parade.

The parade will start at 11 AM on Wednesday, Veterans Day.  It will begin at The Elm performance center, located at 21 College Avenue in Waterville.  The parade will then proceed south on Main Street and turn east on Common Street.  At the end of the parade, there'll be a ceremony at Castonguay Square.

The planners of the parade are asking participants and spectators to wear masks and social distance.

Organizers say they felt it was especially important to hold a Veterans Day parade this year because there were no Memorial Day or Independence Day activities due to the coronavirus pandemic.
