According to the Kennebec Journal, a Sidney Selectman has been charged with assault following an incident where he allegedly got out of his vehicle and confronted a neighbor before kicking him in the arm leaving a subsequent cut and bruise.

Reports indicate that the victim, Jim Tracy, was driving home from work last month when he encountered Selectman, Alan Tibbetts, at the end of Field Road in Sidney. Tracy was turning onto the road headed home from work and Tibbetts was at the end waiting to turn out headed the other way.

Tracy claims as he was driving by Tibbetts, Tibbetts held his hand up with his index finger and thumb extending creating an 'L' or 'loser' symbol. Tracy stopped, exited his vehicle and approached Tibbetts to ask what the problem was. Tibbetts then exited his vehicle and allegedly kicked Tracy in the arm resulting in injury.

It's also reported that several neighbors had issues last year with Tibbetts who would put signs that read 'LIAR' next to other people's Trump campaign signs. He was also accused, but denied, destroying Trump-Pence signs in the area.
