So, it turns out Ariana Grande was a last-minute replacement for Kanye West at this year's Coachella.

According to Billboard, West pulled out of the festival because organizers refused to build him a giant dome. Apparently, the rapper sprung this unnegotiable demand on Coachella co-founder Paul Tollett just days before he was set to announce the festival's headliners.

When they tried to explain to West that it would be impossible to build a dome in four months and that his set would disrupt the entire festival (because they would have to remove a large section of portable bathrooms), he didn't exactly have the best reaction. He reportedly became very agitated and said he was an "artist with a creative vision who shouldn’t be spending his time talking about port-a-potties.”

Luckily, Grande was available to replace West and in less than 24 hours, it was officially announced that she would be headlining Coachella Day 3.

She even made history to become the youngest female artist to headline the event, so West's outlandish demands definitely worked in Grande's favor. It must have been a pretty bittersweet moment for the "thank u, next" singer, who recently got into a little spat with West on Twitter after he called her out for using him to promote her song.

It looks like karma might have had something to do with this...
