Ariana Grande shared a cryptic message about "letting someone go" and "choosing freedom," which some fans believe might be about her relationship with ex-fiancé Pete Davidson.

The "thank u, next" singer posted the emotional quote to her Instagram Stories on Thursday (Mar. 21) with no explanation—just the title "Letting Someone Go." Since calling off their engagement in October, Grande has yet to open up about her break up with Saturday Night Live comedian. However, if this note is about him, it definitely provides fans with some insight about what went wrong in the couple's relationship.

"Sometimes, the reason for letting someone go is because they can't help but hurt you during this phase of their life. When you love someone deeply, you learn what demons live within them and you realize that they are hurting you because they are hurting somewhere within themselves. They are fighting a battle within and may not even know it, so they take it out on you and fight you," the message reads.

"Decide to let them go, but not because you're being petty and resentful. You let them go because you really believe that the both of you can find the healing you truly need without being together and hurting each other in the process," the passage from author Horacio Jones continues. "Letting someone go doesn't mean you stop loving and caring about anyone. Letting go means you're choosing freedom over the illusion of loyalty."

Grande's post comes just days after the pop star kicked off her Sweetener Tour in Albany, New York, where she held back tears while performing her song "Goodnight n Go." The track, which is about the early stages of falling in love with someone, is believed to be about her feelings for Davidson.
