Central Maine Drug Bust Yields Multiple Arrests, Cash, Guns, Fentanyl, Ketamine, Cocaine, Crack, Xanax & Ecstasy
As the drug epidemic rages across Maine and the country, local law enforcement officials are working harder than ever to keep this stuff off our streets.
According to a news article published over the weekend by WGME 13, police officers in the Maine city of Auburn took several people into custody following a large drug bust.
The news station is reporting that the bust was in connection with an investigation into drug trafficking that had been happening in the area.
Police tell WGME that they searched an apartment on South Maine Street in Auburn on Friday evening. During the search, police said there were eight people inside the apartment unit.
As police began their search of the apartment, they began to discover several different forms of drugs. Police say they were able to seize fentanyl, cocaine, Xanax, ketamine, crack, cash and multiple guns and ammunition.
Following the search, Auburn Police took three people into custody on an array of charges. WGME is reporting that Sabian Walker, 36 of Auburn was arrested. Caprice McAndrew, 33 from Mass was arrested. Lastly, Syrus Hampton, also 33 of Mass was also arrested.
The WGME article did not contain the specific charges for all involved. However we do know that bail was set at $25,000 for McAndrew and Walker. However, no bail was set for Hampton who allegedly has a fairly long criminal history.
This drug bust is just one of dozens that has already happened across the state of Maine this year and certainly won't be the last.
This is a developing story that we will keep updated as more information becomes available to us.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
