A Maine man who was being sought on murder charges was arrested on Monday following a pursuit with police.

According to WXXV 25, police in Biloxi Mississippi got a tip on Monday evening at about 6:30 that a man wanted for murder in Maine was travelling on Interstate 10. When police caught up to the suspect and tried to pull him over, he took off leading police on a chase.

The chase led officers into Jackson County, Mississippi where it's being reported that other police agencies also joined in the pursuit. Police were finally able to stop the suspect in the area of exit 61 near Gautier, Mississippi.

The driver of the car, Andrew James Redmon, 34 of Augusta, Maine was quickly taken into police custody. Police say that Redmon is wanted by the Maine State Police in relation to an apparent homicide. Redmon is being charged with murder among other various crimes.

An unidentified passenger in the vehicle was questioned and released.

At this time, it's not apparent when Redmon will be extradited to Maine in connection with the murder charge.
