I Drive This Augusta Intersection Every Day, and It Might Be One of the Most Dangerous in Town
This Augusta Intersection Drives Me Absolutely Crazy
Please Tell Me I’m Not the Only One
I’m a North Augusta girl, so I’ll admit there are probably plenty of intersections around Augusta that locals could argue are worse. But for me? The Marketplace entrance off Townsend Road has to be one of the most dangerous.

I drive through this spot several times a day, and every single time I approach it, I’m watching those cars coming out of Marketplace like a hawk.
You know exactly what I’m talking about. Someone comes rolling toward that yield sign looking like stopping is the absolute last thing on their mind. Are they going to stop? Do they see me? Are they just going to pull right out?
And then there are the times when traffic is backed up and other vehicles block your view. Now you can’t even tell whether the person waiting to pull out can see you coming.
And Then You Have the Crazies…
Of course, my personal favorite is the driver who definitely does not have enough time to pull out, but does it anyway.
It absolutely kills me.
Maybe I notice it more because I drive this stretch so often, but this intersection keeps me on high alert every single day. I automatically slow down and prepare for somebody to do something they shouldn’t.
So, Augusta people, I have to know: Does this intersection make you nervous too, or is there another one around town that you think is even worse?
