We Asked Mainers Which Maine Town Has the Best Downtown — These 10 Got the Most Love
There are a lot of things Maine does well, and charming downtowns are definitely on that list.

From coastal communities with harbor views and locally owned shops to small cities packed with restaurants, live music and history, every Maine downtown seems to have its own personality, and a whole lot of love from locals.
So, we decided to ask the experts: Mainers.
We asked followers on both the 92 Moose and WJBQ 97.9 Facebook pages which Maine town they think has the best downtown, and, as you can probably imagine, people had some opinions.
A LOT of opinions.
Some people went with classic coastal favorites like Camden, Bar Harbor and Boothbay Harbor. Others showed some love for places like Hallowell, Bath, Brunswick and Belfast. And then, because this is Maine Facebook, we also got plenty of answers like “the one without tourists,” some good-natured hometown rivalries, and a few towns that may or may not actually have a downtown.

But once we combined the responses from both Facebook pages, a handful of places were mentioned again and again.
And one town came out pretty clearly on top.
So, according to Mainers themselves, these are the 10 Maine downtowns that received the most love.
