
Here Are The Details on a Decomposing Body Found in Lewiston, Maine Over The Weekend
A body has been found in a bog in Central Maine over the weekend according to the Maine State Police.

Shannon Moss, spokeswoman for the Maine State Police and Department of Public Safety sent out a press release on Sunday night explaining that over the weekend a body was discovered in Lewiston, Maine.

Moss went on to explain that the remains were discovered near the end of Russell Street in the Garcelon Bog on Saturday afternoon. She reported that an area resident came across the remains and immediately reached out to local authorities.
Several agencies responded to the scene on Saturday
Moss said that the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit was dispatched to the scene along with the Lewiston Police Department and the Maine Warden Service. After the scene was secured and documented, the remains were then taken to the Office of The Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta where an autopsy will be performed.

Moss concluded her release by saying that it appears that the body had been in the bog for an 'extended period of time', and, that the Maine State Police does not believe that there is an ongoing threat to the public at this time.
When will the body be identified?
