Summer is flying by, and before we know it the backpacks will be packed, school buses will be rolling, and the kids will be back in the classroom. But before we officially say goodbye to summer, don't miss out on one of our area's favorite family traditions!

Next Sunday, August 9, Boothbay Railway Village Museum is hosting its annual Children's Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and it's always a fun way to spend the day with the whole family. Make sure Mom and Dad know the swimsuits and towels need to come along because the slip-and-slide and water fun are always a hit! There will also be train rides, barrel rides, games on the green, a moon bounce, face painting with Sherry Cases, and the Pollination Station to keep little ones entertained throughout the day.

If all that fun works up an appetite, there will be food trucks and Nate & Ollie's Rolled Ice Cream available for purchase, so everyone can grab a bite and cool off with a sweet treat.

One of the best parts about living in our beautiful communities is all the family-friendly events that continue right up until summer's last days. It's a great reminder to slow down, make a few more memories, and enjoy everything our local organizations work so hard to put together for families.
