The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Kennebec Valley in Gardiner needs support NOW. The Club received an anonymous donation of $1 million toward their campaign for a new building that will only be triggered if it is matched by Dec. 31, 2020!

Except for a few weeks in the start of the pandemic, the Club has been open with child care and remote learning for hundreds of kids whose parents are ‘essential workers’ and now needed the Club more than ever. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Kennebec Valley has been an essential part of the community even before, but there is nothing like a pandemic to really shine the light now just how important.

The other side of the story is even before COVID-19, the Club was in the middle of a $10 million campaign to build a new facility. Then Club received an anonymous donation of $1 million that will only be matched if the Club can raise $1 million by Dec. 31, 2020! The Club immediately got on it and launched a $1 million match challenge to encourage people to the Club for Giving Tuesday.

Check out the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Kennebec Valley video on how they need your help on Giving Tuesday coming up on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

You can donate at bgckv.org/donate.html. Donors can contribute to the fundraising campaign online, by mail, or in-person at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Kennebec Valley, 14 Pray Street, Gardiner, Maine 04345

Currently, with the CDC guidelines, the Club is only able to operate at half its capacity. The new facility would allow the Club to nearly triple its capacity, even during the pandemic, allowing the Club to serve more children and seniors with critical services now and in the future.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Kennebec Valley have raised $7 million for their “Great Futures” capital campaign to support a new facility that will replace the 60-year-old building in Gardiner. Once the Club meets its fundraising goal of $10 million, construction can begin on the new building, which will be located next to the current facility.

To everyone who had donated to get the Club to the current $7M already raised...THANK YOU. But with the match challenge of a million raised to trigger a million-dollar match, that gets them to $9M of a $10M goal, and that is wonderful.
