Our golden retriever, Brady, is getting up there in age...and I'm getting softer. I have never allowed our dogs to get in our pool. They would sneak in periodically, but then get in trouble for doing it. This summer is different.

Brady has not been doing well, health wise, and the humidity and heat is not his friend. So, despite the extra work to clean out the pool skimmer with his fur (and the possible damage to our pump) I've let Brady take periodic dips!

He jumps in, swims a semi-circle and climbs out on the steps. He does the doggy shake and gets the whole deck, and anyone in the vicinity, soaked. The problem is when it's time to go inside. His fur retains a lot of water, so we try and dry him off....this, as you can see from the video, he doesn't like too much.
