The Boston Red Sox have next year's manager in place after hiring former pitching coach John Farrell. Now they begin to fill out his coaching staff. Brian Butterfield will follow Farrell from Toronto to Boston. Butterfield, a Bangor, Maine native was the third base coach for the Blue Jays last year and will fill the same position for the BoSox this year. The 54 year old baseball lifer spent 11 years with Toronto and has also coached with the New York Yankees and Arizona Diamondbacks..

Butterfield will be replacing Jerry Royster, who spent only one year on the Sox major league staff.
