Capital Area Babe Ruth Teams Win Two Maine State Championships

Two Capital Area Babe Ruth All-Star teams are asking for the community’s support after winning Maine State Championships and earning the opportunity to compete at the regional level.

The Capital Area Babe Ruth 16U All-Stars captured their state championship first, earning the right to represent Maine at the New England Regional Tournament in Stamford, Connecticut.

Just a few days later, the organization had another reason to celebrate when the Capital Area Babe Ruth 14U All-Stars also won a Maine State Championship.

The victories are the result of years of hard work by players who have grown up competing alongside one another through school baseball and Babe Ruth. Along the way, they have strengthened their skills, built lasting friendships and learned the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship and perseverance.

Now, both teams have earned the opportunity to represent their community and the state of Maine against other top teams from across the region.

With little time to prepare, fundraising efforts are underway to help cover lodging, meals and other travel expenses associated with the tournaments. Organizers hope community support will allow every player to participate without families having to shoulder the entire financial burden of the trips.

Community members are encouraged to donate or share the fundraiser. Organizers say every contribution, regardless of the amount, will help these young athletes take the field and enjoy an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives.

The Capital Area Babe Ruth organization is now celebrating two state championship teams and hoping the community will rally behind the 14U and 16U All-Stars as they prepare to represent Maine with pride.
