Dev Patel’s White Tux Evokes Old Hollywood Glamour at the 2017 Oscars
Dev Patel walked the red carpet at the 2017 Academy Awards in a classic white tuxedo jacket with a black bowtie and black pants — a look evocative of a Hollywood long ago. The actor, who made his career as the lead in 2008's Slumdog Millionaire, kept his hair loose and shaggy, a comfortable counterpoint to his tightly tailored wardrobe.
Patel is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for playing Saroo Brierley in Lion. This is his first Academy Award nomination, and adorably, he brought his mother as his date for the festivities.
Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the 89th Annual Academy Awards ceremony takes place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, February 26, broadcast live on ABC beginning at 8:30 PM EST. The 2017 Academy Award nominees were announced on January 24.
