Driving home with my daughter last night, a car with one headlight out was coming toward us and I yelled, "Padiddle!" My daughter, said, "What?" I was shocked. How did she get to be 13 and not hear us say "Padiddle" before?

My guess, she is just so good at ignoring us, it just never sank in.

My wife and I have always played the "Padiddle" game. One of our first dates, we were driving around on a Sunday with another couple who were in the front seat. As it started to get dark, a car approached with a headlight out, that was the cue for me to say, "Padiddle!" I can still remember the look I received that early evening, especially after I told my future bride that she owed me a kiss on the cheek.

We talked about "Padiddle" on the Moose Morning Show today. Renee had heard about it, but not just the game component. We opened it up on facebook and nobody, at first, was backing up my kissing angle. Finally, others agreed.

Others had played variations including punching the roof or someone's arm when a car with a headlight is spotted. We also had a call and a facebook comment saying articles of clothing are removed when someone spots a "Padiddle!"

My version was even brought one step further when one caller mentioned a "Padickle." That's when both headlights are out. I won't mention what happens to the winner!

Are there any safe car games you played with your kids on long road trips?
