Driver Crashes Through Living Room of Maine House, Puts it in Reverse, Flees Scene
It was quite a scene in the small Maine town of Abbott yesterday evening after a vehicle apparently crashed through a home, into the living room, then backed out and fled the scene.
According to the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened at about 4:40 yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon. Deputies were called to reports of a hit and run on Main Road in Abbot, Maine. When they arrived they noticed a large car-sized hole in the side of the house.
Fortunately, according to police, nobody was home at the time of the crash, so no injuries were reported.
Police were then able to ascertain that the vehicle involved in the hit and run was likely a 2014-2018 Jeep Trail Hawk. After the Sheriff's Office posted on their Facebook page what had happened with pictures included and the type of vehicle they were looking for, users began sharing the post like wildfire. Ad of Thursday morning the post had been shared nearly 600 times.
Initially, the Sheriff's department was looking for the public's help in identifying the possible vehicle and driver involved, however, in a later update they posted that the operator of the vehicle had been identified.
There is currently no word on whether any arrests have been made or if the driver of the vehicle was injured in the crash.
