There's something about fishing... and men in Maine, that really gets them riled up LOL. I don't have to understand it to know that men love to sit on a boat with their friends and family with a 6-pack and just... well... fish.

This may be the only time I'll be able to say "No License? No Problem."

So, I figured I'd let all the fish-loving men (and ladies that like it, too) know there's actually a weekend coming up in June that allows you to cast a line in the water without a license (that's what we mean by free).

Honestly, it's a great way for you, if you're new to the sport, to go out there and give one of the biggest Maine traditions a try without the commitment of buying a license. With that being said, if you're interested in a new hobby, don't miss out on your shot to try your hand at it on June 3 and 4!

I'll say it again for the people in the back: June 3 and 4!

If you're already thinking about planning your trip with your people, visit mefishwildlife.com/fishing just to make sure you've got a good checklist before heading out onto the water.

I do have to note here, the free line cast applies to everybody with the exception of those who have had their licenses suspended or revoked, SORRY. Don't be a criminal, and also note that just because the fishing law is free for a couple days doesn't mean the rest of the laws in the world don't apply either ;) .

For the single men, this is a perfect opportunity to take a fish photo for the gram or Tinder. We all know it's the first thing women tend to swipe right on in Maine. KIDDING. Maybe.

It is safe to say that Mainers are some of the most secretive individuals when it comes to fishing. Here are some responses when asked where is a good place to go fishing in Maine.
