Free College Classes Being Offered to 2020 High School Grads
2020 graduates in Maine...the Maine Community College System, UMaine and University of Maine Machias have a lovely gift for you...free online classes for this summer. Yes...they are offering summer courses for 2020 high school graduates and they are offering them for free. WABI reports it will give the kids a head start on their college careers.
It has been a rough few months for everyone and high school seniors have had a lot taken away from them in this time with proms, class nights, award nights, and just spending these last few months with their high school friends before college. This is one thing to focus on this is positive and will help in the next steps. I mean, who would not want to start as a college freshman with a few credit already on the books? I have done the many online classes when I was a student at Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield and they are wonderful. But just like in-person classes you need to do the work and on time. I never had any problems with the systems and portals. Some classes I took required a book, like an in-person class, some did not and the content was available online. THAT was a big win. If you have not priced out college textbooks yet...they can be a little pricey. So congratulations and enjoy it!
