I don't know what's been going on lately in Maine with things getting stolen right under people's noses. First, it was a license plate stolen off the wall from Daddy O's restaurant in Oxford. The latest theft thought that happened in Auburn is not quite as simple to pull of as swiping a license plate off a wall.

Lewiston-Auburn Tent & Awning Co. posted a photo on their Facebook on Monday showing a picture of a 20"x40" tent set up at Community Little Theatre Great Falls School. At 9:20 p.m. Sunday night, the big tent was there. At 7:45 a.m. Monday it was gone.

Now this theft is not an easy job and one would think it would be easy to spot being right on the corner of High and Mechanic Streets. It would take a team of several people to dismantle the tent and load it up for transport. You're definitely not going to carry away something that size.

The cover of darkness probably helped with this heist but it's left the Community Little Theater Great Falls School in the dust because of someone's disrespect for someone else's property.

The Auburn Police Department is on the case but is asking anyone who has any information on the whereabouts of Lewiston-Auburn Tent & Awning Co's tent to contact them.

It's just sad to see two of these incidents in Maine within a few weeks of each other. This is not what Maine is all about and I hope that whoever did this is found.
