In Augusta (March 11) today, Governor Paul LePage was joined by maple syrup producers, as he continued the tradition of tapping the Blaine House maple tree.

Maine is getting ready for 'Maine Maple Syrup Sunday' on March 22. Sugarhouses across the state will offer free demonstrations and samples. About 100 locales are expected to participate during this year's 32nd anniversary.

Almost $28 million annually is pupmed into the state's economy thatnks to the maple syrup industry.
