Beloved Maine Cafe Announces It Will Close After 18 Years in Rockland
Beloved Rockland Cafe Is Closing After 18 Years
Another longtime Maine restaurant is getting ready to say goodbye, and if you’ve spent any time around Rockland, there’s a good chance you know this one.
Home Kitchen Cafe & Bakery announced that after 18 years, owners James and Susan have made the difficult decision to close the restaurant and head into retirement.
Why Home Kitchen Cafe Is Closing
In their announcement, the owners explained that Home Kitchen has always been about more than just food. From cooking from scratch to genuine hospitality, they’ve held themselves to a certain standard for nearly two decades.
But maintaining that level of quality has become increasingly difficult.
Like many in the restaurant industry, they said finding and keeping the skilled, dedicated staff needed to consistently provide the experience customers expect has become a growing struggle.
Instead of compromising what Home Kitchen Cafe stands for, they decided it was the right time to step away.
One Last Chance to Visit
The owners thanked their past and present employees, loyal customers and the Rockland community for being part of their story over the last 18 years.
Thankfully, you still have a little time to make one last visit.
Home Kitchen Cafe & Bakery will remain open through October 18, giving Mainers a final chance to stop by before this longtime Rockland favorite closes its doors.
